I'm pretty sure I saw that the paperback is coming out in the spring but I couldn't find a picture. I think swords would be great!

Hah, finally someone who agrees with me on Demon's Lexicon. I skimmed it, thought "I know lots of kids - guys and girls - who will like this" took a second look at the cover, and thought "no way." I might get some twihard fans to check this out, but they won't like it. I'm waiting in hopes that the paperback cover will be good. Maybe swords or ravens or something!

I have never heard of this author - but this book sounds like a neat read.

I completely agree. It's hard to do verbal promotion of a title when it's a mouthful to get out. You almost lose interest before you get the whole thing out.

Those are some long titles! I think the sentence-as-title trend is kind of crazy. :)

I've also heard good things about Lips Touch but my library doesn't own it yet. I'm hoping it's nomination will prompt us to buy it. I just checked out Jumped and I also have Claudette Colvin on hold. Both look good so I'm looking forward to reading them.

I'm not sure about how the decision is made but the books that are considered are nominated by the publisher. I've heard good things about Stitches as well but it's stirring up some controversy as a part of the YP category since it was actually published as an adult book. I'm going to try to read as many of these titles as I can and see what I think.

There's just too many good books out there and it is hard to say no at the library when it doesn't cost anything (except fines).

I can't believe I haven't read Looking for Alaska yet but I've heard good things and I'm looking forward to it. And if you like the title of The Monstrumologist, you should see the cover.
